Paessler Network Monitoring

paessler logo 300x66With e-commerce, VoIP, UC Big Data and IoT - network uptime is growing ever more crucial to business success and staff productivity, yet ever more challenging to maintain.

Paessler PRTG Network Monitoring software helps you avoid costly outages and can alert you before your users even notice them - via email or SMS. You can also find and fix bottlenecks before they cause problems.

More than 150,000 sysadmins around the world rely on PRTG Network Monitor to monitor their LANs, WANs, servers, websites, appliances, URLs, and more.
Bandwidth Monitoring give you exact knowledge of the users, devices and processes that are gobbling your bandwidth and data.

PRTG Network Monitor runs on a Windows machine within your network, collecting statistics from the machines, software, and devices which you designate. It can also autodiscover them, helping you map out your network. It also retains the data so you can see historical performance, helping you react to changes.

It also helps you plan IT upgrades - reduce hardware and infrastructure costs - make purchase decisions based on real data - only buy the gear you need and optimise its use.
PRTG comes with an easy-to-use web interface with point-and-click configuration. You can easily share data from it with non-technical colleagues, including live graphs and custom reports.

This helps you plan for network expansion, see what applications are using most of your connections, and make sure that no one is hogging the entire network just to torrent videos.
PRTG can collect data for almost anything of interest on your network. It supports multiple protocols for collecting this data:

  • SNMP and WMI
  • Packet Sniffing
  • NetFlow, IPFIX, jFlow, and sFlow

PRTG is simple to install, but you need to keep track of the sensors and know what you are looking for. PRTG Network Monitor includes more than 200 sensor types for all common network services, including HTTP, SMTP/POP3 (email), FTP, etc.

One sensor within PRTG is one aspect that you monitor on a device. For example a specific URL, the traffic of a network connection, a port of a switch or the CPU load on a machine. Normally, we allow for 5 to 10 sensors per device, but it depends on what exactly you want to monitor.
