The Telstra Outdoor Gateway has been designed to provide broadband data access to properties that either have no fixed broadband access or are located on the fringe of Telstra's Next G network.

This all-in-one device integrates a modem, router, Wi-Fi and high performance antennas into one robust weatherproof device.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • Works with any Wi-Fi enabled device - Android™, iOS, MAC OS X, Windows® OS.
  • Laptop or Desktop with Windows® 7 & 8 (32/64 bit), Windows Vista® (SP2,32/64 bit) XP (SP3 Media Centre Editions, 32/64 bit) or Apple® Mac compatible OS 10.4 and above is required for installation.

Typical download speeds of 1.1Mbps to 20Mbps are available in all capital city CBD’s and many selected metropolitan and regional areas (covering 80% of the population). Outside these selected areas, the remaining metropolitan areas of all capital cities and many other regional and rural locations support typical download speeds from 550kbps to 8Mbps. In other coverage areas, typical download speeds are from 550kbps to 3Mbps. Typical upload speeds are from 300kbps to 3Mbps in capital CBDs and selected regional areas. In other coverage areas, typical upload speeds are from 300kbps to 1Mbps. Actual speeds vary due to factors such as distance from the base station, distance from the gateway device/s, local terrain, user numbers, hardware and software configuration and download source/upload destination. Wireless Gateways allow you to create a mobile broadband network in your office, when your team is on the move, outdoors or working in temporary locations, such as building sites or trade shows. A Wireless Gateway connects to the Telstra Next G® network.

It then sets up a Wi-Fi hotspot that several users can log into to obtain access to the internet. Up to 16 Wi-Fi enabled devices can be connected simultaneously.

The Telstra Ultimate® Gateway is Australia's fastest Wireless Gateway device with typical download speeds ranging from 1.1Mbps and 20Mbps in all capital cities and many metropolitan and regional areas1.

Up to 16 Wi-Fi enabled devices can be connected simultaneously, as well as four wired devices, such as storage devices and printers. Plus, you can use the USB 2.0 ports to connect and share a USB printer and mass storage device.
